A room at the old shipping agency
Staying in the old dock house at Skagakaia is a small journey backwards in time. Here, one of the very first quays in North Norway was built in 1890, and great grandpa Lamark was shipping agent in a busy harbour bringing goods and passengers to and from the islands. You’ll have a room in the authentic dock house from that time, right at the quay, with rippling waves beneath the time honoured floorboards and a hundred years of history in the walls.
The comfortable guest rooms have kept their old charm mixed with the sense of quality of today. Beds are good, bathrooms are new and the old waiting room has become a living room for our guests. Meals are served in our Old Post House Restaurant, where also locals come to dine. In case you catch a fish, or just wish to make your own meals, there is a guests’ kitchen, outdoor barbecue areas and fire places available for you.
Definitely a place to stay for more days..
