How to get here

Skagenveien 55, 8470 Bø i Vesterålen

Where we are: 200 kilometres north of the Arctic Circle the beautiful Vesterålen islands are stretching westwards towards the big ocean. Here, farthest out at the south west tip of Vesterålen is Skagakaia, a genuine and pleasant base for both relaxing and exploring.

How to get here: Skagakaia is one hour drive (1,5 hour by local buss) from main town Sortland, and a little less than three hour drive from major airport Harstad/Narvik Evenes (EVE). If you come by plane and have no car, you may travel with the frequent and comfortable airport shuttle buss service to Sortland and if arriving there before 19:00 take the the local buss to Steine i Bø (last stop). Please ask us about connections and public transport routes and timetable. If you tell us which buss, we will meet you at local buss station Steine i Bø.

On the map, find us at 68.608162, 14.446220.

Our airports: For direct flights from Oslo we mostly prefer to travel by Norwegian Airline or Acandinavian Airline to Harstad/Narvik Evenes (EVE). To here you often find the best offers and best connexions. During summer Norwegian Airline also has  flights from Oslo to Andenes in Vesterålen - it's about same distance from Skagakaia as to Evenes. If you travel to Andenes, make sure you check out buss connexions from Andenes to Sortland and further to Steine  Bø.

For flights via Bodø or Tromsø, our nearest airport is Stokmarknes Airport, 1,5 hour drive from Skagakaia. There is an airport shuttle buss service to Sortland and catch local route from there. Wiederoe Airline.

About Bø i Vesterålen, our location: This westernmost municipality Bø, is known for it's natural beauty, fairytales and legends from the ocean deep. From Skagakaia there is excellent scope for excursions both in the mountains and out at sea. We have rowing boats and bicycles for hire and quite a few guests find the way here without a car.
